Volunteer in Asia

What’s special about volunteering in Asia?

While working your way through different volunteer opportunities in the largest, most populated continent on earth may not be a seemingly simple task, it will nevertheless prove to be a super exciting one as well..

Why’s that you ask? Well, the unique and diverse natural wonders embedded throughout Southeast Asia and all the way up to the Tibetan heights have been coupled in recent years with Asia’s fast growing awareness to responsible tourism. Joined by its constant development of social entrepreneurship, your journey can now become a much more holistic experience of contribution and a unique revelation of both nature and culture.

Now is the time dive a bit deeper, and we’re not just talking about the Andaman seas! Opportunities to contribute are in abundance starting from India and working their way through Thailand.hen these opportunities are matched with the right set of skills, your work can have a huge impact in a variety of fields. Start by thinking of specific locations you’re most drawn to; what cultures or surroundings spark your interest. Then, add to that the cause you hold close to heart and you are ready to start looking into organizations that are in search for your set of skills.

If you’re looking to lend medical and healthcare assistance, India is where you can put your focus on. Great ecological and educational opportunities can be easily found in Cambodia and Nepal, where you can  check out responsible tourism initiatives while volunteering in crop plantings or while working in  local schools. Similarly, if Education is truly a meaningful cause for you, teaching, especifically teaching English, in Asia will be an amazing direction for you to consider and explore.

Incredibly meaningful experience
"I cannot express how meaningful and worthwhile my time as a teacher at Minmahaw School was. While being pushed to think about issues along the Thai/Burma border and models of community development, I also had this opportunity to build connections with individual people and an entire community through Minamahaw school. I continue to recommend this experience for all motivated to make a difference in the world and who have skills to share. "

My future plan with Kenosis Foundation
"Mingalarbar! This is the way of saying “Hello” in Myanmar language. My name is Chaw Su Zin, but please call me JueJue which is my nickname. I am from Myanmar and I am 22 years old. I am currently working at French Myanmar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, CCI France Myanmar. I am also a translator at French Institute. I came to know Kenosis Foundation through social media and information shared volunteering information in a group named Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos Backpackers. The reviews provided by two former volunteers motivated me to join your foundation. Plus, I am also interested in being a volunteer in another country. Would like to share the knowledge I have with them. At the beginning of 2016, I then communicated directly and received lots of information from Issac, the Managing Director. He helped me a lot to gather more information, understand their work and the need for volunteer to teach English to local school students from 1st to 12th grade and also for young girls in the local community through their project called “After School Programs” (ASP), is an evening tuition class for disadvantaged children in the villages, rural district of Krishnagiri, Tamilnadu state, south part of India. He also talked about the real situation of women and their girl children, education and livelihood of local farmers in the village. He did guide me with lots of tips and feedback to prepare English Lesson. I will teach English to the students of the village. I am currently preparing English lessons for them. If I have the chance, I also would like to teach some French and Spanish apart from English. I got to know as well some good reviews from two former volunteers who were also with Kenosis Foundation. I decided then to join the foundation and I also chose one girl named Gracy who is an 11th Standard girl now at St. Joseph's Tamil Medium High School, Sesurajapuram village, Tamilnadu, India to support her school fees. My plan is to be in the village where I will teach English to the students in August, 2017 from 5th to 26th. I will volunteer for only 2 weeks. It is a little bit short, unfortunately, however, I will go back for a longer stay in the future with more friends. During my 2 weeks there, I will try my best to be able to teach English to the students. Today, English is the world’s most useful language and the children have to know English as well which can create good job opportunities in their life. As I speak English too, I just would like to share my English knowledge with them. And I will spend one more week there to visit the big country, India. I planned to visit other parts of India, such as architect, stone temple and sculptures, Beach and resorts of Chennai and a British colony in Pondicherry, a rich biodiversity of Yercaud filled with Coffee plants, Teak and silver oak trees with jack fruits, Orange fruit trees, flowers and lakes with resorts on the top of Yercaud hills, Tamilnadu state and Stone building and golden temple, monuments, golden palaces, a botanical garden with national Animal parks in Bangalore and Mysore, Karnataka state and so on. It’s a great opportunity for me to explore new cultures, interact with local women and teenage girls, enjoy delicious and variety of Indian dishes, and spent time in new unknown places to build my personal and career skills. It’s a time to get motivated to live better in the future and manage my life at any challenging situations may come in. I truly recommend Kenosis Foundation to everyone who likes to take a journey once in a life time and impact local community as you can make a double impact on the project you work and also in your personal life. All their programs are affordable, and all year round. Apply now and enjoy your stay in India with Kenosis. If anyone out there, please contact me, we can have a great adventure as a group and this helps in managing our cost when we travel. Finally, thanks to the team of Kenosis Foundation, a reliable organization"
