About this Campaign

In Njiru, Nairobi, soccer is for men, not women or young ladies. Playing soccer increases self esteem, builds leadership skills, and allows girls to have a visible role in public life.

Through participation in our ladies, a generation of young girls in around Njiru Kenya is developing the confidence to be agents of change in their communities, one soccer game at a time.

Soccer is the world's game and when played in safe spaces, creates a pathway away from the dangerous activities that young people often otherwise find themselves in.
Youth Initiative Development programme throuugh Ebenezer Football Academy works to leverage this power of the game of soccer to create positive impact by incorporating vital social and health education lessons right on the field of play. With this project, we will organize a series of soccer sessions - all led by women - to teach girls about positive behaviors, leadership and empowerment.

More than 200 girls and young women will be directly impacted by this program through the educational soccer competitions and sport-based activities. The long-term goal is to nurture and sell talents, also to improve health and safety and increase life skills in girls and young women who participate. Good talented girls will be able to participate in regional or county leagues.

To achieve this, we will increase in knowledge about reproductive health and other issues affecting adolescents like mental health, increase self-esteem and confidence, and improve leadership skills in all participants.
