Act for Africa International, Inc. is a voluntary organization that was established in late 2007 by friends of diverse origins and background in Africa and the US who want to be part of the struggle against poverty in the African continent. Some of African friends directly experienced the lack of basic needs in terms of health and education in their hometowns or villages as they grew up. They are the ones walking miles without tools, books or shoes to go to school. And they know ways to help their young brothers and sisters that still continue to experience similar lack of basic health equipment and to attend school under the same poor conditions. We are finding the strength to bring hope and real change to rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
