All year round

Accommodation and meals are not included in the volunteer price, however, we can help you arrange this and we have the following options!

Accommodation will differ depending on the amount of volunteers in your group.

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS –

(i) As an individual, you will be placed in a descent Local Lodge with maximum security and basic utilities such as electricity and water. Preferably the Lodge will be within reasonable distance to your work place.

(ii) Alternatively you may choose to stay in a host family. You can expect to have your own room with clean linen and a mosquito net. There will be electricity and running water.

Living with a host family is a wonderful cultural experience, as you are able to take part in family activities. Many people are reluctant to stay with a family, for fear of intruding, or lack of privacy. But the Malawian culture is one of family and respect. You may also chose to share meals with the family in which case a small weekly fee from US$ 45 to US$ 55 will be charged for both accommodation and sharing meals.

(iii) You may also wish to stay in a private house (guest flats) with water, electricity, furniture, kitchen set, beds, security guard, electrified fence etc.

The only thing you will need to do is to buy food and cook for yourself.
