English Trainer - English as first language
Finance Manager - Qualified/Chartered Accountant to manage the finances of all charitable projects including a vocational training hotel
We require a finance manager to manage the accounts of our projects – this is a role based in Southern Tanzania and we also require an English trainer to teach our trainees English as well as other basic lessons
The variety of projects that involve Trade Aid in Mikindani means that we have need of volunteers who are trained accountants, hoteliers, IT specialists or teachers, or those who are trained in business management, construction and building conservation, marketing and the tourism industry.
Our volunteers go to the projects with a specific skill, where they advise and train locally employed staff in that skill.
We believe that by training local people we can help them to find work to support themselves and their families. In this way, we are helping to tackle poverty through sustainable employment.
Finance Manager - April
English Trainer - Ongoing
We provide a £200 monthly allowance with all meals and accommodation provided by Trade Aid.
Trade Aid's activities help to develop sustainable employment. We work on a number of projects in Mikindani in partnership with the national, regional and local government of Tanzania and the community of Mikindani.
Our key project to date has been the restoration and development of the Old Boma, a training hotel based in Mikindani offering education and employment to the community through encouraging tourism and trade.
In 2012, work commenced on Livingstone House, a second restoration project nearby. This will create new work spaces and an education and information center, made sustainable by renting out the newly created first floor residential accommodation.
