CHILD LABOUR AND TRAFFICKING
We need volunteers to assist on our ongoing anti Child Labour and Trafficking project. This is a project to rescue children involved in Child Labour and trafficking and to educate rural communities about the risks of Child Labour and Child Trafficking and the importance of educating the child. We currently have 47 children on rescued from Child labour and on our scholarship rogramme. The team endlessly educates the community of the need to protect children's rights and send the children to school.
While the child labour team is encouraging parents to protect the children's rights to education by sending them to school and providing scholarships to those who most need it, we need volunteers who are passionate about teaching to be able to accommodate these children. We place volunteers in schools that have former trafficked / labour children so volunteers can have time for these children having understood where they are coming from. It is important for the child to feel comfortable at school after being out of school for months and sometimes years. It takes a dedicated teacher who truly understand the ordeal of that child to make the school a welcoming place for that child. We also pare students one on one with teaching volunteers to assist them with difficulties they might still have after the normal school.
Volunteers will join the public health team to conduct education on rural communities on basic health issues . Help train community volunteers on health issues and conduct house to house education. Volunteers will also assist at the clinic with other community health nurses in the rural communities.

Orientation is given to volunteers/interns the next working day after arrival to further understand the culture, history of the organisation, projects and programmes running, currency, how to move out and about, and everything the volunteer needs to be aware of to ensure a smooth stay. It includes showing the volunteer some important places as bus stations, directions to and from office, how to locate ATMS etc. This comes at no extra cost to the volunteer.

Cheerful Hearts Foundation works to educate and empower rural citizens through human rights, public health and education initiatives so they can sustain an improved standard of living. We continually inspire people to take small actions everyday to improve the well being of their communities and we envision Ghana as a whole without a separation between the rural poor and urban rich.
We focus on three interconnected projects to achieve our vision of a more educated, healthy and prosperous citizenry: Stop Child Labour & Trafficking project, Public Health: Education, Empowerment and Assessment project and Education Standards project. We predominantly research and manage these projects as a hands-on team, with international interns and volunteers adding incredible value to the impact that we make in our communities. Our foreign interns and volunteers gain a wide range of experiences and skills through their exposure to CHFs work in rural communities and schools
