We are a charity whose mission is to design and develop socio-environmental, educational and infrastructure projects with the purpose of guiding the development of rural/semi-rural localities through the path of a sustainable development, increasing the quality of life of their inhabitants.
We are a not-for-profit NGO located in Lobitos, Peru whose mission is to design and develop socio-environmental, educational and infrastructure projects with the purpose of guiding the development of rural/semi-rural localities through the path of a sustainable development, increasing the quality of life of their inhabitants.
Our approach towards sustainability has three pillars:
- Conservation and sustainable use of ecosystems, natural resources and biodiversity.
- Participatory processes of social inclusion and gender equality.
- Economic wellbeing.
We need volunteers to help us with our sustainable development projects in a semi-rural community in northern Peru. Projects include endemic species conservation, dry sanitation, renewable energy, NGO management and socio-economic research.
Volunteering with us does require a financial contribution. Please see our webpage for more information on pricing at: http://ecoswell.org/volunteer-contribution.html
We provide volunteers with help and assistance in the field during their stay in Lobitos.
As an international organisation, having volunteers globally is vital to us. Having connections across different parts of the world enhances the exchange of knowledge, skills and ideas, therefore playing an invaluable role in international development and the expansion and capacity of EcoSwell as a charity.
For this project, we need input from online volunteers to work on maintaining and continuing to develop our Volunteer Programme and other aspects of the organisation. This opportunity is open to people worldwide and costs nothing at all.
Working from home with EcoSwell not only comes without any financial costs, but it will also provide you with invaluable experience in the NGO and volunteering sector no matter where you are based in the world, which is often hard to find. Additionally, you will become part of a motivated, knowledgeable, international team of people working towards sustainable development.
Although you will be working independently using your own creativity and initiative, you will receive ongoing support and guidance from the multidisciplinary members of the EcoSwell team throughout your volunteering placement.
By joining the EcoSwell team and volunteering at home you will be playing a vital role in developing our Volunteer Programme, establishing relationships and registering EcoSwell with volunteering platforms (such as Omprakash for example). You may also be required to carry out general online admin tasks such as sending e-mails and liaising with other EcoSwell team members.
