EMACE is a non-profit, Non Governmental Organization (NGO) incorporated under Section 31 (9) (a) of Act No 28 of 1979 of the Government of Sri Lanka (www.inlandrevenue.gov.lk/charity.html), working towards adaptation to climate change mitigating adverse impacts on environment and ecology.
Of a healthy, vibrant, progressive responsible participatory community sector which contributes to social cohesion, equality and justice.
Being a national NGO, EMACE has acquired vast local knowledge and the sensitivity to ensure that our activities benefit those that are targeted as we are in constant interaction with the Government, the private sector, other NGOs and community-based organizations, we have built-up a strong network and local as well as international support.
To protect the basic human rights of the most vulnerable people - women, children and the displaced - attain adequate means of income generation, health care, education, security and environmental sustainability, while actively influencing government and industry towards greener policies and practices.
To work towards attaining a healthy eco friendly environment and, upgrading vulnerable sectors by poverty alleviation, thereby achieving better living conditions through enhancement of income for sustainable co-existence.
