Global Medicare Foundation aims to provide access to health care and information to local populations in Cameroon. Our dream is to see a healthy society where undeserved populations have access to medical treatment and education and leave a healthy life.
Volunteers carry out vaccination campaigns, disease control, HIV/AIDS and STDs test and counselling; volunteers work in hospitals as nurses, medical practitioners, patients counselors and health auxiliaries. Volunteers also carry health sensitization campaigns in villages and reach out to young persons in schools through seminars, workshops, health talks and much more.
We have made available a completely equipped and furnished volunteer house where our volunteers are hosted and live like one family during their stay. We also have host families where volunteers can stay, this is to well imbibe them to local culture and life style. Volunteers are free to chose either to stay with host family or at the volunteer house.
Cost depend on the duration of your stay.
From 2 weeks to 1 month: XAF 250,000 = 382 Euro
From 1 to 3 months: XAF 400,000 = 610 Euro
From 3 to 6 months: XAF 500,000 = 763 Euro
From 4 months and beyond: additional XAF 75,000 = 115 Euro for each additional month.
Global Medicare Foundation needs the help of volunteers who can work online with the help of our programs coordinator to undertake the activities mentioned above.
We are looking for volunteers who can spare a few hours of their time daily or weekly to develop new ideas that will support the projects we run in target communities. One of our major challenges is to raise funds to support these activities which are intense and require much funding and determination.
If you are interested to be part of our online team, we are willing to provide all the support needed to reach our goals.
We pick up volunteers right from the airport and lodge them in their home. We do a one week induction class with our volunteers teaching them local language, pidgin-English and give general orientation on the most important places they should know(market, church, groceries, nearest beach, hospitals..)
We are a young and dynamic organisation seeking to expand access to healthcare by building the capacity of on the ground partners located in village communities, providing direct medical services in under-served communities, and investing in health systems for under-served patients. Our focus is on women, young girls and children.
