What We Need

There are many opportunities for volunteer work here at The Jungle School! There is no talent that would go unused here! Whether it's cooking, cleaning, teaching, tutoring, making phone calls, organizing, planting, harvesting, sewing, fundraising, updating the website, painting, planning or any other skill, you would be much appreciated here!


When & Who

The school here runs from January - October so those are our busiest months, but help is appreciated any time of the year!
There is no maximum stay for our volunteers as long as they are paying and helping!

What we Provide

Types: Volunteer House

We have two separate houses for volunteers on site. One is set apart for use for women and the other is for men. There is also space for couples and families.

Types: Variety

We enjoy making healthy meals with local fruits, vegetables, and grains. We can accomodate to specific dietary needs if advised.

Purified Drinking Water

This stipend is only offered for two limited positions. This position can be filled by a person who is bilingual in English and Spanish and makes a two-year commitment to live on site and dedicate to this position. Please inquire if interested in overseeing projects & enjoy working with people. If interested a resume needs to be sent in for this position.

Our Fees

$15 daily

$15 allows us to provide three meals a day along with room and board for our volunteers who serve alongside us during the work day from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Social Activities

We can offer wifi at an additional cost along with SIM card.
It is our pleasure to assist with pretrip assistance, pick up/drop off, on site orientation, and local tour for no additional cost.
There are also various social activities that each volunteer can choose at an additional cost. We have a list of activities here that each volunteer can choose from and each activity has a different cost. For example, there are local boat rides, local touristic sites like Tikal and parks like Ixpanpajul.

Other Ways to support us


There are a variety of workshops that a volunteer can sign up for and attend if interested.
The activities are listed below by price:
$20 : Cooking Workshop (learning & preparing local recipes)
Honey Bee Tour and sampling fresh honey
$25: Practice your carpentry skills and make a wood project
Making local oils (coconut, avocado or palm)
$30: Jewelry making

Cleaning supplies, office supplies, school supplies, tools, seeds, computers, cooking supplies and any other item someone may wish to donate!
