HOCAM envisions an empowered society with equal opportunities and easy access to much needed social, economic and spiritual services for all. This it has done through different projects ie Education and Skills training to ensure productivity and self-reliance among people.
HOCAM needs professionals volunteers in the field of farming to give Skills and to support the demonstration farm were young farmers will be acquiring practical skills in farming.
HOCAM also need volunteers in the fields of Vocational training, Primary education, women empowerment, Evangelism.. to promote productivity and self reliance.
All volunteers and teams will stay at the HOCAM mission house in Mubende town. All living quarters are secure, westernized houses.
The atmosphere at the mission house is very community-oriented.
You will have your own bed and mosquito netting in a room and enjoy interacting with the new community.
Breakfast usually consists of toast and tea.
During the weekdays, lunches are prepared for the entire team. The normal lunches are beans and rice. Dinners can range from the typical Ugandan meal to simple American meals such as spaghetti. The typical Ugandan meal is meat or beans mixed and fried with vegetables, rice, matooke (a boiled plantain) posho (mixed cornmeal), and potatoes. Fruits, such as pineapple and bananas, water melon, apples are typically around the house as a snack.
We try to make the cost of our trips as reasonable as possible.

Besides our permanent Staff Members ie Managing director, Programs Manager, Finance assistant, coordinator, secretary... The onsite staff depends on the number of volunteers on ground and the activities. For big volunteer groups, we have translators that attend to each team member.

We run a child sponsorship program for underprivileged children, Business training program (Business essentials Curriculum) designed to help everyone learn how to start and run their own businesses. we have done a number of projects including Sewing and tailoring, computer training, farming, clean water (water filters, rain water collection systems and spring boxes), relief for refugees in kazinga refugee camp providing them with shelter, food, medicine and clean water. Fighting malaria by distributing of mosquito nets, preaching the word, planting churches, and much more and we are working towards having a skills training center as one of the big ways to help people become self reliant.
-Our Organisation does not act as an Orphanage but empowers children from their own families and communities.
-We operate a primary school and children come from surrounding families and communities and we support any "child in need" through our child sponsorship program and their families.
