We are a community based organization focused on empowering boys exiting juvenile prison
1. Writing and Story-Sharing Group
The volunteer will teach teach boys and young people how to write and use writing as a medium of sharing stories. Since writing is a form of therapy, it will enable the recipients of the program to find a means of expressing themselves and find release.
2. Life Coach
Teach the boys various life skills such as personal branding, how to write a CV, answering job interview questions
3. Fundraiser & Resource Mobilizer
Help Lifesong Kenya to mobilize funds and resources required for its programs and activities.
4. Half Way Cycle Volunteer Event Manager
The volunteer will help organize, plan and find the resources and people needed for our annual fundraising through cycling in December
You will stay with families where public transport and taxi is easily accessible and is at a secure location. Shopping malls are also easily accessible.
You will have a comfy bed, a bath, shared TV and wi-fi.
Meals are planned together with the volunteer and hosts in order to prepare the best
Computers, bikes, biographies on different personalities, writing journals, cycling gear
Lifesong Kenya is a supportive community that empowers teenage boys to exit juvenile prison with employable skills.
Research shows that boys who exit prison with employable skills have better chances of overcoming stigma and rejection from family and the community.
This helps reduce recidivism and reoffending.
