Minga House is a non-profit Colombian foundation dedicated to the service learning engagement between foreign volunteers and our Colombian Coffee Region Communities through collectively solving real-life community challenges. Some roles are structured internships/externships and other roles are flexible volunteering spots. There is no better way to learn a new culture and to practice your Spanish than to immerse yourself into a well-defined role integrated into the community. Community health is a major field of study within the medical and clinical sciences which focuses on the maintenance, protection, and improvement of the health status of population groups and communities as opposed to the health of individual patients. During In this rotation you will experience how Colombian health professionals from different specialized fields view Colombian community health. you will enjoy learning and developent your lenguage skills abroad depending on how long your stay is while you are performing community service. Naturally, the longer you can stay (26 weeks), the more experience you will gain.
We provide the facilitation, the introduction, the advice and mentorship. Our staff is made up of local bilingual professionals. Our director has over 20 years of U.S. higher education experience managing service learning and internship programs. We have a fantastic facility which provides a safe and comfortable basecamp for our volunteers and interns.
We have never received online assistance by volunteers, but we're willing to explore doing so from experienced volunteers.
