Volunteering Activities
What We Need
Volunteers typically teach or assist a teacher with classes from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM five days a week. After school during the evening from 4:00pm up to 6:00pm the volunteers teach the kida at the public library and then from 6:00pm up to 7:30pm the volunteers teach the adults class at the Public library .Lunch is provided by the host family. The rest of the day before Libreary is free for the volunteer to explore our beautiful region. We will make sure we find a class where you can fully utilize your skills, whether you are strong in languages, science, maths, etc.
Primary Schools:
In primary schools, the focus lies on improving the English skills of children aged 3 to 13 so that they can progress onto secondary school. Children in primary school usually speak very little English; so, volunteers need to be able to connect with them using simple teaching methods. Along with teaching English, volunteers can implement other activities (e.g. arts and crafts, stimulating learning games, etc.) to engage the students in creative ways.
Secondary Schools:
In secondary schools, in addition to improving the standard of spoken and written English, the focus for pupils aged between 13 and 17 is to deepen their knowledge on subjects like mathematics, geography, history, science, computer skills, life skills, and so on.
There are also opportunities for volunteers in both primary and secondary schools to run after-school sporting activities and get involved in wider community development program which is runned in the public library.
When & Who
What we Provide
We offer you the possibility to stay with one of our host families and experience Tanzanian life from its roots. We personally know all of the families we place our volunteers with and we guarantee that you will be "feeling at home" in no time. Depending on where your host family lives, your journey to the school could be a 5 to 40 minutes walk.

Additional Info about Us
Our aim is to bring people from different backgrounds together to build a quality education system for children in primary schools all around Ilboru. We believe that through education, we can build a brighter future for our next generation.
We are constantly looking for individuals from around the globe who want to make an impact on a child's education. No matter where you are from or what your life path has been, we want to work with you if you want to share your potential skills, knowledge, and time with our kids and our community.
We are looking for individuals who are willing to teach any subject or to simply assist a teacher with their class and our pupils truly love working with the volunteers. At the school, there are always teachers around to help you translate English into Swahili and to inform you of what the students are currently studying. You are always welcome to bring reading books and some school school supplies for kids.
