What We Need

We are seeking volunteer athletic coaches for soccer, basketball, tennis, and flag football and are seeking Christian ministry leaders who will deliver Bible lessons and lead devotionals.

Our sports programs run for a total of 8 sessions. Each session is 2 hours in length and takes place on Saturday mornings from 9 am to 11 am.

Up to 5 people

You will be coaching one of four sports: tennis, basketball, soccer, or flag football. You may also lead a Christian devotional.


We will provide you with an invitation letter. You are responsible for 100% of your expenses. (Travel, Food, Health Care, Transportation, Lodging etc.)

Established in 2005, SportsWorks is an award-winning faith-based sports and education nonprofit that serves children in need and at-risk youth. We are non-partisan and non-denominational in the delivery of our programs. Our mission is to provide sports instruction and training to children ages 5-18, help them become better students in the classroom, and equip them with life skills that will enable them to become healthy and productive citizens.

-Awarded a sub-grant from TechMission, a Christian non-profit organization whose objective is to use technology to transform vulnerable communities.The sub-grant enabled a team of urban youth from the Boston, MA area to design SportsWorks's website
-Awarded a 10 and under Equipment Grant from the North Carolina Tennis Association
-Recognized by the United States Tennis Association as a Community Tennis Association and a National Junior Tennis and Learning Organization
-Awarded a grant from the DonorPath Capacity Building Fund
-Admitted into Worldwide Who's Who for our service to low-income communities
-Received book donations from the Book Harvest as part of an initiative to increase literacy
-Awarded a 2-year equipment grant from Good Sports
-Raised $1,000 for the People Ministries Elite Basketball Team
-Obtained membership in the Jr. NBA, the USTA, NFLPlay60, First Book and Good360
-Provided sports equipment to impoverished children in India, the Ivory Coast, Malawi, Pakistan, and Uganda
