We Provide: Gender neutral accommodation on double sharing with non-attach bath, basic kitchen with utensils, a fire wood pizza oven and a tandoor at The Green Gardens (https://goo.gl/maps/LkYJ1k1Tc8C2), Wayanad, Kerala. It is a sustainable farm maintained by the self help group supported by TGG Foundation. The facility is extended to the Givingway volunteers once they become Responsible Indian Mission members (http://tggfct.org/responsible-indian-mission/). As the farm members are completely occupied with the day to day work, it will be difficult for them to spare their time for cooking. However breakfast and lunch can be prepared for those volunteers who can hand-hold daily activities of the farm members while they cook for you. The food items to prepare the meals can be either purchased by the volunteers or they can pay Rs.30 for the breakfast and Rs.40 for the lunch to the farm attended and she will manage the food items within that.
You can enroll with us by becoming a member of our Responsible Indian Mission by paying an annual membership fee of Rs.365 and volunteer.
TGG Foundation is a self sustaining not-for-profit Public Charitable Trust with 12A & 80G registration issued by the Income Tax Department. The activities of the foundation started in 14th January 2012 in a small way, however constituted as a public charitable trust in August 2014. This trust aspires to bring remarkable changes in the life of the people in rural areas.
Our primary project suitable for volunteering is a sustainable farm in Wayanad called The Green Gardens, which is close to Edakkal caves, a UNESCO approved world heritage site. The garden is maintained organically and we produce hand crafted green tea here. Livestock and sustainability practices are the attractions of this farm.
