We are a nonprofit organization for community development, English education, and cultural exchange based in Hanoi, Vietnam.
We need English speaking volunteers from all over the world, especially from countries such as America, the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, etc.
We offer projects in Hanoi center. Every year, hundreds of volunteers join our project and outdoor activities such as team building, coffee talk, day trip, picnic, etc...making an unforgettable experience volunteering!
We DO NOT REQUIRE a Teaching Certificate. We do prefer that you have some experience of teaching. To support our volunteers with their teaching and preparation we have a number of resources available including class books and teacher's book.
1. Teaching adults in Hanoi center
In our volunteer home area, we run free and low-cost classes. This is a great environment to meet new people, facilitate cultural exchange, and gain teaching experience for children and adults. Topics are varied and there are plenty of opportunities to share your experiences, exchange language skills, and learn about our culture. Students are 18+ years old.
2. Teaching children in Hanoi center
These classes are more structured, so you'll be able to apply your existing experience in a new environment or gain teaching experience in a welcoming atmosphere. There are detailed teacher book guides for these classes to follow if you wish. The age of the students is 5 - 13 years old.
3. Help with free activities in Hanoi.
Besides teaching students inside the class we aim to increase their confidence, conversational abilities, and skills in the workplace. This is done by having a cultural exchange between volunteers and students, including kids and adults on Sundays (which are optional for volunteers to attend). We focus on free activities such as team building, free talk, picnic, food tour, field trip, football, etc.
This is a great way to share experience, explore Vietnam and participate in cultural exchanges with the local people, foods, and customs. If you have any work experiences/skills to share with the students, you are welcome to organise your own as well. They are also happy to share your local culture.
All volunteers will live in the volunteer apartment in exchange for teaching. The apartment is located in the Nam Từ Liêm district of Hanoi. It is outside the city centre, but still within Hanoi. It is a quiet area of town and across the street from Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower, the tallest building in Vietnam.
The apartment is located in a very safe complex with a big courtyard surrounded by a couple cafes and a corner store. Within a 15 min walk are: banks, grocery stores, a local market, clinic, pharmacy, malls, gym, yoga centre, movie theatre, bowling, swimming pool, etc. The VCV Community Classroom is also within walking distance of the apartment.
Volunteers get three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually light — coffee, tea & bread with jams or fruit. Lunch & dinner will be served family style for all of the volunteers, together. Meals are mainly local foods like; pho, spring rolls, fried rice, curries, stir fried meats and veggies. We will also make simple dishes like pasta, so no one gets too homesick. Don’t worry, we are accommodating for vegetarians, vegans or those with food allergies.

We are a non profit organization located in Hanoi, Vietnam. We are building a community through English educational, and cultural exchange.
We believe that education is fundamental for sustainable development and, therefore, our aim is to create an accessible and equitable learning environment. Many universities in Vietnam encourage students to learn English grammar but rarely teach them how to speak and converse in English. Once they graduate, they have difficulties finding employment in the best paying jobs because they often require English language skills.
We aim to give our students the best chance of improving their speaking skills so that they can find good jobs and improve their overall well-being.
We strive to make English language education available to everyone regardless of their economic status or background. We provide free or subsidized classes to our community and to anyone looking to improve their English skills.
WHERE YOU FIT IN?
Our full-time staff will be on hand to provide you with a tidy space to live and work and to offer you all sorts of authentic Vietnamese meals throughout the day.
Our students also enjoy helping our volunteers anytime and are more than happy to become your tour guide. They'll be able to take you to the sites of Hanoi that are not well-trod by most travelers.
