Volunteering With India

Jaipur, India, South Asia

Volunteering With India is a NGO Non-Profit Government Organization which is registered under Rajasthan, Indian Society Registration act 1958.

Volunteering With India has as its founders a group of friends. With the help of our team members and volunteers like you we work for the development of community; we taught children in rural areas how to use the computers, and even their teachers, because part of them they did not know how to do it; other programs we took part in involved working with Street children, Medical Volunteer and the Women empowerment movement. We also involved in a program that offered theater education to school children and we were amazed in seeing the kids do so well in the drama we put in play. The Organization also working with animal care centers in Jaipur and started running an awareness program about animals. All this work led to our desire to build an organization that can handle all this problems.

Currently the organization is running successful volunteering programs in the city of Jaipur and in the rural areas that surround it. Our work is about helping children stay in school and give them a better education, and develop their talents, about helping women become more independent and be aware about their rights, about raising awareness about animal rights. We hope our work will help develop a more powerful, educated and aware society.

We welcome every person that wants to help us continue our work in the Indian society. Every help is needed and we hold great respect for every individual that wants to work in a volunteering program. The satisfaction that a person has in working for the benefit of humanity is the greatest one can hold.

What We Provide

VWI will make arrangements for room, food and transportation for the volunteers, from the first day of the volunteer’s arrival in Jaipur, India. Volunteers will be living with an Indian host family. You will have your own room that you may or may not share with another volunteer of the same sex. Our host families are carefully screened and selected based on VWI requirements. Host families are experienced in the realm of hosting international travellers for a least 10 years.
The accommodation and meals provided at the host family will be basic. You will be getting three meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner), the very same food your host family themselves will be having, traditional but very nutritious. However if you are unable to adjust to food or need more nutrition/protein/special diet you can arrange your own meals from produce at the local market. Staying with a host family is a great way to learn about a host country’s culture and customs. Every host family will have internet facilities so you can stay in contact with your own family.

Transport to and from your project site everyday will be by auto-rickshaw (tuk tuk).
