Volunteers are needed in the areas of teaching, women empowerment, disaster relief, development, advocacy, out-of-school activities, open and distance learning, OER, and any skills to train students in technical and vocational trades are mostly welcome

YIOTEC actively promote higher education through its IT facilitated education programs and services across Makeni City, Northern Province of Sierra Leone and beyond.
Yegesie International Open College of Technology (YIOTEC) was set up by Victory Mission Christian Body in the year 2012 as a premier institute of excellence in post-secondary education and research in the area of Information Technology and allied areas. The Institution is a non-profit making autonomous institution and is registered with the appropriate line ministries in Sierra Leone. All the shares of the Company is held by Victory Mission and the management of the Institute is vested in a Board of Directors comprising eminent industrialists, academicians and senior Government officials appointed by Victory Mission..

YIOTEC as a church-based educational institution of excellence in Science, Technology and Management, relates Information that develops professionals and leaders of high calibre imbued with values of entrepreneurship, ethics and social responsibility. YIOTEC will actively promote higher education and industry across Makeni and beyond through its IT facilitated education programs and services.
MISSION
YIOTEC's Mission is to be an institution of excellence in education, research, development, and training in basic and applied Information Technology and Management and to be a leader in educational networking and services provider for higher education and professions. The institute will help the region's development through its education, expertise and services and thereby make it an attractive destination for hi-tech industry.
The main objective of the institute is
i) to conduct various educational programmes in Christian Leadership, Community Development and Appropriate Technologies, Information Technology and management in full time as well as in part time, leading to award of degrees, fellowships, diplomas and certificates to the participants of such programmes
ii) to conduct short-term training programmes in church-based activities, Information Technology for the benefit of IT professionals employed as well as unemployed.
iii) to organize seminars / workshop to disseminate latest developments or knowledge in IT related topics and holistic activities.
iv) to undertake research projects and application specific projects in the field of Leadership training, Information Technology, Management, entrepreneurship Development and allied fields,
v) to offer consultancy, guidance and assistance to the City, State and Central bodies and other organizations in their drive for computerization, to train personnel involved in such activities and to help the city and line ministries formulate various policies, schemes and projects for the promotion of wide spread application of IT in all walks of life.
vi) to act as an effective interface between industry and academic and scientific institutions with a view to foster innovative technologies, develop Intellectual Property, aid in patent registration and assist in their commercialization, without the objective of making profit.
