Youth Education for Development and Peace (YEDP) was found by a group of young people touched by the plight of many vulnerable groups of people in Cambodia. It was formed through joint young intellectual efforts with the assistance of the scholars.
The formation was prompted by sad effects of civil conflict, social injustice and corruption in the country, which has resulted in social-harmonization and social-economic setbacks. To these effects, a lot of physical violence, extra judicial killing, intimidation, humiliation, and looting, raping and gross human right violation have aggravated the social stability in the country coupled with this; the devastating effects of dictatorship from rule of law to rule of man have also frustrated the ailing situation in the country.
Seeing this relevant and essential to Cambodian people, we had registered YEDP in January 2016 as a Cambodian non-profits and non-governmental organization and started its activities formally initiated by youth volunteers who have willingness to contribute to promote social justice, democratic governance, rule of law, peace and sustainable development of Cambodia under SDG #5 (gender equality), #13 (Climate Action) #14 (Life Below Water) #15 (Life on Land) and #16 (peace and justice and strong institutions) of the 2030 agenda.
YEDP is working for youth, with youth and by youth to promote democracy, human rights, governance, peace and environmental projection.
