Volunteering makes important economic and social contributions, contributing to a more cohesive society by building trust and reciprocity among citizens. It can be both challenging and rewarding and require you to use your skills in a new context. You can also transfer useful knowledge while gaining a greater understanding of the issues affecting other people.

For our volunteer program, the the organization aims at providing basic and supportive facilities for schools and communities including children, women and people living with disabilities. The organization further runs a range of advocacy initiatives among which is the national WASH Advocacy Platform. Therefore Volunteers will be working with schools and communities and then creating respective clubs to foster peer education, child welfare and development. Various capacity building opportunities will be created for children and young people especially through training in areas of Human Rights, Peace, Governance and more.

At YPPD, we seek to provide our volunteers with valuable learning opportunities to increase their global consciousness, enhance communication and leadership skills, and gain real world experience. Our projects are anywhere from 2 weeks to 12 months long or beyond and allow volunteers to choose the theme of their service whether it is discovering something new or growing within a field where an interest already lies. For YPPD, our Volunteers have the opportunity to form lifelong friendships, connect with grassroots organizations worldwide and network locally.

YPPD is further inspired by the conviction that volunteerism is a powerful means of engaging people in tackling some of the daily challenges communities are faced with. Everyone can contribute their time, skills and knowledge through volunteer action and their combined efforts can be a significant force for achieving development which is anchored on placing people first.
