Our Privacy Philosophy
Your privacy is important to us. Therefore, we have taken reasonable safeguards to protect our Users' information. Nevertheless, VD cannot, unfortunately, guarantee the security of all information or guarantee that information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed, because factors such as hardware and software failure, unauthorized access to our servers or Users' accounts, and other factors, may compromise the security of our Users' information.
Please do your part to help us. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling at all times access to emails between you and VD and between you and other Users of the Service. Your privacy settings may also be affected by changes the social media services you connect to VD make to their services. We are not responsible for the functionality, privacy, or security measures of any other organization.

Information We Collect
VD collects the following types of information:
Information that you provide
We collect information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Information”) that you voluntarily provide to become a registered User of our Service, and when you use certain aspects of our Service. This can include your username, password, email address, profile information and photo/s. You can also choose to provide us with location data. This information allows us to help you or others be "found" on VD.
We collect information when you register to use the Service by logging into an account that you already have with certain third-party social networking sites (“SNS”). If you decide to create your User account by logging into SNS via the Service, you are using the Personal Information you have already provided to the SNS (such as your “real” name, email address and other information you make publicly available via the SNS) to create your User account on our Service; the information we collect may depend on the privacy settings you have with the SNS, so please consult the SNS’s privacy and data practice.
When you communicate with us we collect and store the contact information you provide us (which usually consists of your name and e-mail address), information about the Service or your activity and your username. We will also store the correspondence (e.g., account verification, changes/updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices) and any information contained within. Note that you may not opt out of Service-related e-mails.
We will also store copies of your communications with other Users (both volunteers and organizations) for internal tracking purposes. Should you wish for us to delete copies of such communications you may contact us in writing and we will comply with your request as soon as reasonably possible. This means that if, for example, a volunteer requests that we delete his/her communications with an organization/s we will not be able to keep such copies for the benefit of the organization/s who is/are a party to such communications.
You may find your friends that are using the Service or invite friends to use it. When you use such features we will import your personal contacts (including email addresses of friend lists via SNS) to the Service so that you can connect with your friends on the Service, and your friends can find you on the Service.
Analytics information – Usage Statics
Whenever you use mobile applications and other Internet service, there’s certain information that almost always gets created and recorded automatically. The same is true when you use our Service. Here are some of the types of information we collect:
Log Data. When you use VD or go to a webpage or use an application that has VD features (like our “VD” button), our servers automatically record information (“log data”) including information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website or your mobile application sends when you’re using it. This log data may include your internet protocol address (“IP Address”), browser type, referring/exit pages and URLs, number of clicks and how you interact with links on the Service, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information. We may also collect similar information from emails sent to our Users which then help us track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. The information allows for more accurate reporting and improvement of the Service.
Device Information. In addition to log data, we may also access, collect, monitor, store on your device, and/or remotely store information about the device you’re using the Site on, including what type of device it is, what operating system you’re using, device settings, device identifiers, data sent to the device by the Site and crash data. Whether we collect some or all of this information often depends on what type of device you’re using and its settings. For example, different types of information are available depending on whether you’re using a tablet or phone. To learn more about what information your device makes available to us, please also check the policies of your device manufacturer or software provider. Such information helps us or others provide reports or personalized content and ads. Some features of the Service may not function properly if use or availability of device identifiers is impaired or disabled.
Third Party Web Beacons: VD may also implement third party content, such as advertising, on the Service that uses “clear gifs”, “web beacons”, or other similar techniques, which allow the third party content provider to read and write cookies to your browser, or implement similar tracking mechanisms, in connection with your viewing of that third party content displayed on the Service. This information is collected directly by the third party, and VD does not participate in that data transmission. Information collected by third parties in this manner is subject to that third party’s own data collection, use, and disclosure policies.
Metadata: Metadata is usually technical data that is associated with User Content. For example, Metadata can describe how, when and by whom a piece of User Content was collected and how that content is formatted. Users may have Metadata added to their User Content (e/g hashtag and/or location data) which makes it more searchable and interactive.
We also collect other information that you provide as part of registration and use of the Service, as well as any other content and/or data that cannot reasonably be used to identify or contact you (e.g., without limitation, age and individual preferences) (“Non-Identifying Information”). Certain Non-Identifying Information would be considered a part of your Personal Information if it were combined with other identifiers (for example, combining your zip code with your street address) in a way that enables you to be personally identified or contacted. But the same pieces of information are considered Non-Identifying Information when they are taken alone or combined only with other Non-Identifying Information (for example, your viewing preferences).

We use your Personal Information, in some cases, in conjunction with your Non-Identifying Information to provide the Service to you as described above. In addition, we use your information to:
create your User account and help you efficiently access your information;
provide personalized content and information and contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials, events details and other information that may be of interest to you. We may also use your Personal Information to send you alerts, notifications and other features that may be used by you in the Service. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive such communications from us, please follow the unsubscribe instructions provided in any of the communications or update your “preferences” information in your account settings;
