About this project
The bulk of families in our rural villagers make their living from tourism and tourism related activities.They work in the tourism sector as contract workers in different capacities.Most sell curios and craft in the big market or supply the big market with wares.Village women sell produce to city dwellers who work in tourism.The drought this year means that the effects of the pandemic will be brutal on the food chains resulting in acute hunger which the social networks are not able to cope with making the young people very vulnerable especially girls.Wewant to continue to offer support to young people especially little ones and teenagers to recieve at least one hot meal per pay for the next month and half while parents and guardians figure out how to respond and cope with the effects of this pandemic.The villagers will take turns to cook and volunteer at the soup kitchen. We aim to provide porridge with peanut butter and an afternoon meal for at least 500 young people.
