"I went there as a mammal intern and stayed for three months. I can honestly say that my stay at PLT is the best thing I ever did. When I think about it, I feel like it was all a dream, a bubble out of time, during which I got the chance to do what I like in a paradise-like landscape, living with some of the most amazing people I ever met. It may seem exaggerated, but it is not. My average day looked like that: I go in the field early in the morning and conduct my survey. After that, I go for a quick swim before lunch. In the afternoon, I work on my computer to enter my data or read papers. Then, I wait after dinner to go back into the field. And, through all of that, I had the opportunity to join the primatologist in her project and observations, help other interns with their field work, exchange with the locals, enjoy the luxuriant nature that the reserve offers and, of course, have a lot of fun during all of my stay. I can't think of a better way of life.
At the end of it all, I learnt a great deal about biology and the remote field life. I will always be grateful to PLT’s staff for everything they did for me, from making sure that I was surviving the 80 Celsius degree temperature difference to every word of support and advice they told me throughout the advance of my project.
Thank you so much,
