About Me

Both of us enjoy cooking, working outdoors with our hands, are avid hikers and live a healthy lifestyle.
Our dream is to one day run a hobby farm, in which country is yet to be decided, and live a healthy organic lifestyle. We are both well presented, organised, very outgoing, curious and friendly people who would love to have more and more friends all around the world.

Lars is a qualified gardner with landscaping/construction skills and conservation volunteer in Australia. One of his favourite jobs was building igloos in Austria. Fluent English spoken with great (although grammatically wrong) German! Romina has worked as a tour guide in igloos, helped young volunteers finding projects across the world and has made lots of people happier with a good cup of coffee working as a barista (coffee maker). Fluent English and German speaker. Both of us have volunteered with numerous families through "helpx" doing jobs such as gardening, maintenance, light building, wood chopping, harvesting and minding children.

My Reviews

A worthy project to support!

"We stayed at Maya for 1 month helping in, but not limited to, Agriculture and Construction. From the very start the locals welcomed us warmly and the children are always smiling, laughing and eager to socialize. The work we performed was at times demanding, mostly because it was HOT for us, but there was never any pressure on us. In the free time thereā€˜s ample time to converse with children, other volunteers and locals to broaden your mind or just have a laugh.
But more importantly it was a brilliant opportunity to learn through love and to learn that less is more.
What more can we say but it was an unforgettable experience for us and we will always hold Maya in our hearts!"
