Albergue Montaña Verde
Excellent farmstay experience

"I can’t say enough about my experience at Montaña Verde. The location is perfect, right next to a bus stop that can take you into nearby San Isidro de el General or up to San Gerardo, right next to Cloudbridge Nature Reserve.

There are hiking trails right on the property too, as well as a river that’s perfect for cooling off after a morning of manual labor.

The volunteer program itself is interesting and flexible. You can plant and maintain the garden, help build beds for vegetables and flowers, document native birds on the property, and assist in the everyday tasks of the hostel.

If you get to work with Ranzeth and Lizeth, you’re very lucky. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome by helping me practice Spanish, inviting me to endless functions with their friends and family, and taking me hiking.

I would highly recommend Montaña Verde to anyone considering a volunteer program with a farmstay/hostel. I’m sad to leave but hope to return someday. Thank you for everything!"
