MCODE is family
In the summer of 2015 I flew to Uganda alone and worked with MCODE for about 3 months. To this day I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to become a member of their team. In the small time I was there I witnessed so much perseverance, passion, acts of kindness, and real steps toward change. I worked mostly on the menstrual hygiene management program. We traveled around schools in rural areas to teach about menstruation while working to diminish the taboos around the subject. This is an MCODE project that I was most interested in, but there were many other projects I got to dip my toes in as well. The MCODE team are dedicated to bettering their community in Uganda and will make anyone feel like family.
