A valuable and rewarding experience! reviewed by Lucy Rose Barrett
"I have been volunteering with the Marina Orth Foundation for 2 months now. Unlike most volunteers, I have been working in the office rather than the schools, as a social media and marketing intern/volunteer. As it is a small organisation, I have been given lots of responsibility and have been set a range of tasks. This has really allowed me to make the most of my time here. My time here has also been extremely rewarding as I have been able to see the direct impact of the work I have been doing. The combination of gaining valuable work experience and skills and helping to promote and raise awareness of the great work of this foundation has made this a really special experience and one I look forward to continuing. Meaningful work in rural area in central Colombia reviewed by Paula Veselovschi
"I volunteered with Tinguaco in July, when they organized a program of summer activities for the children of a rural part of La Mesa, a small town in Cundinamarca. The kids were absolutely lovely and were aged from 3 to 17. I conducted some activities where they practiced English. It's not a formal school so it wasn't teaching, but rather practicing the English they learned at school - something they don't really have the occasion to, in La Mesa. The location is beautiful, a farm with orange trees, mangos and a kiosk where we held the activities, nested between other farms, and the weather is perfect."
